Commitments to Easter Seals Goodwill Industries We are grateful to all who have made commitments to our organization. We are continually indebted to the people with whom we have forged relationships. Our list is endless: the individuals we serve along with their families and friends, local legislators, our referral sources, those who assist us from local community organizations, small businesses and corporations, trades people and union members, many volunteers, the media and our staff. We recognize their support allows for the pursuit of our mission to enhance employment, educational, social and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and other challenges.

RECONNECT is a no-charge computer recycling program for consumers. It is intended to raise awareness of the importance of responsible computer disposal and provide a free and convenient way to dispose of unwanted computer equipment. The goal of the Dell RECONNECT program is to keep used computer and equipment from landfills and to educate people on the importance of proper computer recycling.
Any brand of used computer equipment is accepted, and customers are responsible for removing data from their hard drives. Neither Goodwill nor Dell is liable for data removal or protection.
Proceeds of the value recovered from the recycled computer equipment go to Goodwill to support job training and employment services programs. Consumers can drop off computer equipment at our Goodwill stores and donation centers (please see the section entitled Retail Stores and Donation Centers on the Locations page). If you are a business that has a quantity of computer equipment you'd like to recycle, please contact us. |

THE EXPERIENCE PROJECT began as an initiative to have participants in our Youth as Leaders (YAL) program paint a blank wall across the street from them at Casa Latina in an effort to beautify the community, build self-esteem, work as a team, build YAL's identity, connect with local artists and allow the youth creative expression. However, the project grew through a Mayor's Community Art Grant and the "donation" of one of the walls of Acme Furniture by its owner. Classes took place in September and October, and the mural was painted in mid-October.
Through the generosity of Acme Furniture and the involvement of New Haven's Liveable City Initiative, Office of Cultural Affairs, Channel 1, Grand Paint and local artists, hours and hours of work produced the mural you see in the photo. The wall will be a gallery of sorts where local artists will have the opportunity to express themselves in exchange for their partnership and help with YAL murals, and our young people in this neighborhood will be able to forge strong, positive connections with their community. Media coverage bolstered the youth's confidence and gave them a strong sense that what they were doing was important. |
